The Lifetime Achievement award was established to give tribute to those who have made significant contributions to the ISSVD and have impacted the lives of many women through their education and scientific accomplishments.
The first Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Ray Kaufman, MD at the XXI World Congress held in Paris, France, in September 2011. Elisabeth Kaufman accepted the award on behalf of her esteemed father. Dr. Kaufman was one of the original Founding Fellows of the ISSVD. During the Congress, several ISSVD fellows gave tributes to the many accomplishments of Dr. Kaufman. They may be read here.
The second Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Peter Lynch, MD at the XXVII World Congress held on the Navigator of the Seas in the Mediterranean in October 2013. Several ISSVD fellows spoke about the many ways Dr. Lynch has helped to shape the ISSVD including, serving as a Past President, chairing many committees, and a special task force. He has also written many publications and terminologies/descriptors for vulvar dermatoses.
